C.A. PERRY & SON AND LANSING TRADE GROUP JOIN FORCES TO SERVE NORTH CAROLINA FARMERS

(OVERLAND PARK, KS) – SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 - C.A. Perry & Son, Inc. and Lansing Trade Group, LLC are announcing a new joint business venture called C.A. Perry & Son Grain Company, LLC to operate three grain handling facilities in northeast North Carolina for origination of local grain from producers, largely for export.

The grain facilities, located in Hobbsville, Weeksville, and Morgan's Corner, have been in operation by C.A. Perry & Son and will continue to operate through the transition to the new entity. Lansing Trade Group has been a consistent merchandiser of grain from these assets, and Lansing will continue to provide this region with access to quality export markets through container shipment.

The facility in Hobbsville is a 1.26 million bushel grain elevator, which includes high speed container loading operations. Morgan's Corner is a 220,000 bushel through put elevator, with excellent proximity to Norfolk, Virginia. The facility in Weeksville is a 720,000 bushel grain elevator. While a recent mechanical break down will limit activity at the Weeksville facility for a period of time, the new business anticipates the facility will be reconstructed, improved and fully operable as soon as possible. Each of these facilities provides needed storage and handling capabilities in this region, where grain production has grown rapidly over the past decade.

Both companies stated that there are immediate growth plans for the new entity that will add capacity and speed to the current marketplace. Lansing has made other recent international investments that will allow it to control the grains from the producer in North Carolina to the importer in Southeast Asia.

"C.A. Perry & Son has established a solid business and a good reputation. The combined strengths of the C.A. Perry & Son team with Lansing's trading expertise and financial strength will make this venture a success for North Carolina agriculture. The ability to originate exportable grain via Norfolk, combined with C.A. Perry & Son's strong transportation capabilities, creates great opportunities for Lansing," said Bill Krueger, CEO of Lansing Trade Group.

Sidney L. "Bud" Perry, President of C.A. Perry & Son, commented, "We have had a great relationship with Lansing in which Lansing has contributed to our successful growth. We have seen our businesses grow at a rapid pace. Our compatibility and unique location put us in a position to bring long-term value and service to our customers in this region. I am very encouraged by this new business opportunity, and look forward to watching this business continue to grow with the assistance of Lansing."

Lansing has been in the business of trading commodities for 79 years. Rapid growth of its business over the past decade has come from responding to marketplace needs, including providing United States grain for export both by container and bulk shipment. This new venture will allow Lansing to further leverage its trading platform and customer service abilities, which have been core to the company since its beginning.
