LANSING TRADE GROUP ANNOUNCES PLANS TO ACQUIRE & ENHANCE GENEVA NY ELEVATOR

(OVERLAND PARK, KS) – JUNE 21, 2011 - Lansing Trade Group, LLC is in the final stages of acquiring a grain handling facility in Geneva, NY from long time customer, Austic Grain, LLC. Upon completion of the purchase, Lansing will immediately begin construction to add storage space as well as increase both rail loading and truck unloading speed at the facility. Upon completion, Lansing will be operating a 630,000 bushel elevator capable of providing excellent service to NY farmers for the handling of corn, soybeans and other commodities produced in the area.

Bruce Austic, owner of Austic Grain LLC, has worked closely with Lansing over the past several years to establish a rail loading program at this facility. Soybeans and other commodities have been purchased from local producers and exported from the area by rail. Lansing is also working directly with the Finger Lakes Railway, which services this facility, to expand the rail service needed to support the faster unload and rail loading speeds. Austic, as well as other areas producers, will benefit from the expanded rail loading capacity at the facility and from the increase in unloading speed that results from multiple dump pits, most notably at harvest time.

Lansing's Tom Irmen, Executive Vice President—Strategy & Development, said, "Lansing has established a significant presence for serving the New York farming community with our office in Auburn, NY. The acquisition of this facility and the enhancements we are making reinforces Lansing's commitment to this area and will benefit an underserved part of the state in regard to grain handling. We value our relationship with Bruce Austic very highly, and appreciate all he has done for us in this area."

"Lansing's investment into New York agriculture with the purchase and additional construction in Geneva is a boost to the farm community here," said Bruce Austic who also operates a large farm in the Finger Lakes Region. "Lansing will increase access to export markets for NY producers, specifically for soybeans, that will benefit the local agriculture community."
