J.D. HEISKELL & CO, LANSING TRADE GROUP ANNOUNCE JOINT COTTONSEED TRADING BUSINESS

Tulare, CA & Overland Park, KS — J.D. Heiskell Holdings, LLC / J.D. Heiskell and Company, and Lansing Trade Group, LLC announced Jan. 10 that it had completed negotiations that will allow the two companies to merge their whole cottonseed (WCS) trading businesses into one jointly-managed trading venture.

The resulting business will be headed up by Lansing's current WCS trader Paul Scruggs and operated from the Lansing headquarters in Overland Park.

The combined venture will commence trading on February 1, 2007. Lansing will contribute key strengths of strong destinations and solid originations including Mid-South WCS origination through facilities in Helena and Portland, AK.

These strengths combine well with Heiskell's extensive on-farm presence and facilities focused on the dairy producers of the western USA.
